Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is an umbrella organization that helps support over 450 health service organizations throughout the country including the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative which helps women battling breast and ovarian cancer. BC/EFA stemmed from the Broadway theater community's response to the AIDS epidemic in the 1980's and has been helping men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS ever since. Together with our help we hope to see an end to HIV/AIDS, breast and ovarian cancer FOR GOOD.
Equitas Health/Camp Sunrise: Equitas Health (formerly AIDS Resource Center Ohio) is a not- for-profit community-based healthcare system founded in 1984. Its expanded mission has made it one of the nation’s largest HIV, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) healthcare organizations. It serves more than 45,000 individuals in Ohio each year through its diverse healthcare and social service delivery system focused around: primary and specialized medical care, behavioral health, HIV/STI prevention, advocacy, and community health initiatives. Camp Sunrise, a program of Equitas Health, is Ohio’s only summer camp program developed specifically for children impacted by HIV/AIDS. Each summer, Camp Sunrise welcomes as many as 100 children to experience the joys of friendship, the love and support of a caring community, and an encouraging environment free of the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS.
